Beggar Boy

This is a hand scanned example of one of the tunes in the book. The original is a lot more clear. Beggar Boy is in the Phrygian mode. When tuned to DAd you can play this mode in the key of F# starting at the second fret and using the 6+ fret instead of the 6 fret. You also have this scale in the key of B starting at the fifth fret, using the 6 fret and not the 6+. There are two versions of this tune in the book, this one, and one in the key of B with the capo at the fifth fret.
